From SOCOM’s upgraded MH-6 Little Bird to the rollout of the XB-70 Valkyrie, we look at the evolution of two very different aircraft built for speed, precision, and power.
I'm disappointed that you didn't mention the Little Bird's predecessor, the OH-6 Cayuse, and it's admirable service in Vietnam beginning in the early 60's
Hi Lee, thanks for commenting and I am actually a fan of the OH-6 Cayuse, which is a great helicopter and did have an admirable service record in Vietnam as you mention. I thought about going into further detail on the post about the Little Bird but decided I could write more about it in an upcoming post - as well as an upcoming video. Although my YouTube videos are mainly about fixed wing aircraft, I am currently working on expanding my catalog into helos. As a matter of fact I am working on the AH-56 Cheynne video this week. I will be sure to work in the OH-6's role and service history into an upcoming Newsletter post, as well as a video all about the Little Bird and Cayuse - they are incredibly rugged and versatile aircraft.
